Photomosaic Land Mapping

This particular orthomosaic photo-map was for DH Farm mountain bike park, just outside Portsoy in Aberdeenshire.

Due to the size of area covered by the mountain bike trail park and the legal altitude limit of the drone (400ft) it was impossible to capture the whole park in a single aerial image. The image is a compostion of approximately 50 images stitched together with specialist software into a single photomosaic. the advantage in the technique is that it represent a nadir (straight down) view over the whole site avoiding the obvious perspective issues had it been shot a single image so it it more orthographically accurate.
